Gladstone Driving Event is making a comeback

The Gladstone Driving Event, once the most important sporting competition of its kind in the country, is making a comeback next month at Hamilton Farm, home of the U.S. Equestrian Team Foundation.

The event, admired all over the world in its heyday, has been held on and off over the last decade or so. It was not staged in 2015 due to a lack of entries. Continue reading

A look back; a look ahead

There were plenty of good tidings for New Jersey’s equestrian community in 2015 that will be paying off in a happy new year during 2016.

The return of the Essex Horse Trials after a 20-year absence is among the most exciting, with a new venue set at Moorland Farms in Far Hills and an exhibition/demonstration this summer in preparation for holding the eventing competition itself on June 24, 2017.

The Essex Horse Trials will ride again

The pieces are falling into place for a revival of the Essex Horse Trials, just 20 years shy of the iconic eventing competition’s final bow in the Somerset Hills.

Plans call for holding it on June 24, 2017, at Moorland Farms, home of October’s Far Hills Race Meeting.
